Remedy Entertainment’s Alan Wake is one of their most beloved properties – ditto for the game’s titular leading man – and fans have been awaiting his return for some time now. Before Control’s launch, Remedy teased the same for their newest game’s second expansion, titled AWE, and they’ve now confirmed that.

With a new trailer shown at the recent State of Play, Remedy Entertainment confirmed that Control will be receiving its second expansion later this month. It was a brief trailer, with some snippets of gameplay, but Alan Wake can be heard uttering one sentence – “Stay in the light” – and we also get to see him for a brief second. Take a look below.

Alan Wake’s return is something fans have been asking for for a long time now, so to finally see him coming back – as part of another game’s expansion no less – is certainly a surreal moment. This should be one worth looking forward to.

Control is available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and the AWE expansion will be coming on August 27. The first expansion, The Foundationis also currently available. Control will also be coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X, but an exact release date for that is currently unknown.
