70. Microsoft acquires “xbone.com”, admits the name won’t go away any time soon.
Some cheeky albeit humorous people decided to shorten the Xbox One’s name to “Xbone”, and as you would expect Microsoft took offense to that. Major Nelson stated that the name is a disrespect to the people who put in thousands of hours into making the product. It was later revealed that Microsoft had purchase the domain name “xbone.com” and admitted that the name wouldn’t be going anyway any time soon, despite how they felt about it.
