Cyberpunk 2077 was due to receive some new information on June 11th via Night City Wire. However, due to recent events, the broadcast has been shifted to June 25th. Though he developer is keen to share new information on the title, it felt that “more important discussions are happening right now and we want them to be heard.”
CD Projekt RED thus joins the likes of Electronic Arts, Sony, and Activision which have delayed major reveals or launches in solidarity. Some new details were revealed for FPS/RPG through CD Projekt’s recent financial reports, indicating that it was in the “final stage” of development. The developer also noted previously that it was confident of hitting its current release date.
Cyberpunk 2077 releases on September 17th for Xbox One, PS4, PC and Google Stadia. Xbox One owners will also receive a free upgraded version for Xbox Series X thanks to Smart Delivery support. However, it will take some time before full-blown next-gen versions of the title arrive. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
We decided to move Night City Wire to Jun 25th. We still look forward to sharing new information about CP’77, but more important discussions are happening right now and we want them to be heard. We wholeheartedly stand against racism, intolerance and violence. Black Lives Matter.
