Could the game be releasing sooner than we thought?
After months of silence, suddenly there’s been an explosion of rumblings about Death Stranding. Developers Kojima Productions have been teasing one teaser after another, while a reveal for the game is also confirmed to be taking place today (the official PlayStation Twitch channel is already gearing up for it).
The common belief has been that Sony will be doing a massive gameplay reveal for the upcoming PS4 exclusive title very soon, but now, there might also be a slight possibility that they end up announcing a release date for the game as well. As spotted by Wario64 on Twitter, pre-orders for Death Stranding are about to go live tomorrow, with ads for the same having been spotted on the PlayStation Store.
“Sam Bridges must brave a world transformed by the Death Stranding,” reads the blurb on the pre-order screen. “Carrying the remnants of our future in his hands, he embarks on a journey to re-unite the shattered world.” The pre-order screen also mentions a handful of in-game items that players will get as pre-order bonuses.
As unlikely as it might have seemed until very recently, a release date announcement for Death Stranding doesn’t seem like it’s completely out of the question anymore. Either way, we’ll find out soon enough. Stay tuned for all the updates.
