Kojima Productions’ Death Stranding had a fairly strong launch in the United Kingdom, becoming the second biggest exclusive launch for the region this year. Sales in Japan appear to be equally strong as per Famitsu’s estimates for software and hardware sales from November 4th to November 10th. The title sold 185,909 units at retail and topped the charts.

It’s not as strong as Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, which sold 293,652 units on the PS4 in its launch week in Japan. But given that Death Stranding is a new IP, that too one with unorthodox gameplay, sales are still fairly strong. Other new releases this week include Need for Speed: Heat which sold 16,303 units for the PS4.

Check out the top 10 best-selling titles in Japan for the week below (along with their overall lifetime sales). To the surprise of no one, the Nintendo Switch continues to sell well. The regular version sold 54,249 units while the Switch Lite managed to sell 34,523 units. The full list of best-selling hardware for the week in Japan can also be seen below.
