Doom 4 reveal hinted by Tim Willits

Doom 4 seems to have come down with a case of the Duke Nukems, a we’re almost certain has been im development for ages but every year, it never seems to come.

However, with the Doom 3 BFG edition looming large, to be released on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, rumours are yet again swirling that now is the time.

Okay, this can easily be dismissed as but more wishful thinking on part of the legions of fans who aren’t at all concerned that this case of Duke Nukems may become systemic. Cue Tim Willits, iD Software’s creative director, with a rather telling interview with Gamereactor.

“I can’t say for sure, but if we were, it would be a great time to [re-launch the previous Doom games],” said he with grin, a smile and a swish of his cape.

Should this be read into? Did he merely have a particularly good breakfast that morning?  Perhaps, but when you factor in that QuakeCon is but a month away, you do start to wonder.
