BioWare’s next Dragon Age title will probably be releasing after fiscal year 2022, as per recent comments by publisher EA. The game is still in pre-production but we could be getting some new details on December 4th. This is according to a new tweet on BioWare’s official Twitter.
It’s essentially a tweet celebrating the 10 year anniversary for the franchise ahead of Dragon 4ge Day. Similar to Mass Effect’s N7 Day, which takes place on November 7th, Dragon 4ge Day is an unofficial celebration of the franchise for fans. Taking place on December 4th, it could be the day that new details – if not a new teaser – for the sequel is provided.
Dragon Age 4 was confirmed at The Game Awards 2018 but it wasn’t the first incarnation of the game. According to reports, the sequel was meant to focus on heists and branching missions before being cancelled in favor of completing Anthem’s development. The new version of the game is apparently built on Anthem’s codebase and though a lot is still unknown, the critical story path is reportedly single-player oriented.
Today marks 10 years of Dragon Age! This year we’re excited to join the community’s party on December 4th and celebrate a decade together in the world we all love. See you on 12/4 for Dragon 4ge Day!
