Ubisoft games are notorious for having large open world maps (often larger than required), so it’s not surprising that the upcoming Far Cry 6 is looking like quite an ambitious game as well, in more ways than one. The shooter’s recent gameplay deep dive promised a diverse, big world to explore, and we also got a quick look at what the full map is going to look like.
A screenshot from the trailer showing the full map of Yara was spotted and posted on Reddit, and you can see it below. Of course, it’s hard to judge from the screenshot alone, but it does look like a pretty big region. Lead gameplay designer David Grivel has said that Far Cry 6 has a larger open world than any other game in the series, while promising that that also goes hand-in-hand with greater variety (for instance, the first full-fledged urban environment in a Far Cry game), so there’s definitely plenty for players to look forward to.
Far Cry 6 is out on October 7 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia.
