Square Enix has confirmed that Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will receive a free demo today for all PS5 players. Leaked earlier by an ad on the console’s dashboard, the demo will include the Nibelheim flashback chapter and allow players to control Cloud or Sephiroth.

However, that’s not all. Creative director Tetsuya Nomura confirmed that the team will add a playable portion in Junon between the demo’s launch and the game’s release. It will showcase the freedom of exploration that players can expect. The exact scale of the content isn’t confirmed, but it’s perhaps the first time Square Enix is adding content to a PS5 demo after it goes live.

Stay tuned for more details when the demo goes live. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is out on February 29th for PS5. Check out the latest trailer here, where the group battles various threats. There are also story scenes, gorgeous environments, mini-games and much more to glean.
