Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

New Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth details have dropped courtesy of the latest State of Play. It includes confirmation by director Naoki Hamaguchi that the PS5 title will feature Performance and Graphics modes at launch.

Performance Mode allows playing at 60 frames per second, while Graphics Mode lets players prioritize a 4K resolution. Hamaguchi also confirmed that the title makes “full use” of the PS5 with much higher-resolution assets than Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Furthermore, they load in the “blink of an eye” courtesy of the console’s solid-state drive.

If that weren’t enough, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth also supports the DualSense’s Adaptive Triggers and Haptic Feedback. The latter allows for different kinds of rumble feedback during cutscenes, exploration and combat. 3D Audio support is also confirmed for those with supporting set-ups and headphones.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth launches on February 29th for PS5. A free demo is out later today featuring the flashback to Nibelheim. Players can control Cloud or Sephiroth, but additional content set in present-day Junon is being added later. In the meantime, check out the latest trailer.
