Playground Games has been catching quite a bit of criticism from the Forza Horizon 6 community for its lack of communication about any potential new content that might be coming to the game. The studio has acknowledged this criticism and, in a social media post, has said that it plans to do better with upcoming content as well as with receiving player feedback.
“We’re reading all of your comments about Forza Horizon 6, and we realize that we haven’t been talking with you as much as we could be. While we continue to deliver regular content and fixes into the game, we want you to know we hear your feedback about our post-launch updates, and we’re looking into future changes to both in-game content and the ways we communicate with you. Stay tuned.”
What these future changes will involve, however, is currently unknown, and the last bit of major content to be released for Forza Horizon 6 was the Drift Attack mode back in August. The company’s general silence regarding the racing game has been commented on by many content creators, including STEVIO2175, who said that “it just feels like the community engagement between the developers and us is nonexistent.”
It is worth noting that Playground Games typically hosts a Forza Monthly series where it talks directly with its community. However, this monthly show has been missing for quite some time. Many have been noting that Forza Horizon 6 still lacks feature parity with its predecessor, with the absence of things like in-game voice chat.
“Voice chat alone could make FH6 Japan ten times better,” said STEVIO2175. “But the thing that bothers me most at the end of the day is that the devs have not responded at all. No communication, no public responses, nothing.”
Interestingly, the studio’s silence regarding Forza Horizon 6 coming to PS5 has also been the subject of much discussion. While Playground Games reiterated last month that the port was planned for release later this year, a report has indicated that the PS5 version has actually been pushed back to an early 2027 release window to align it with the launch of the racing game’s first expansion.
Forza Horizon 6 was released on PC and Xbox Series X/S in May. At the time, we gave the title a score of 9 out of 10 in our review thanks to its excellent driving mechanics, a large variety of content, a healthy mix of new and returning events, and a beautiful open world that rewards player-driven exploration. Our only complaints revolved around the fact that the progression system felt linear when compared to older games in the franchise, and that Forza Horizon 6 doesn’t introduce anything new to the overall formula.
In the meantime, the studio has likely been quite busy with the development of open-world RPG Fable. Slated for release on February 23rd across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, the studio is likely working on polishing the title and adding any finishing touches that need to be wrapped up ahead of the game’s release.
