If rumours are to be believed, the next Forza Motorsport game is still a ways off, with Forza Horizon 5 supposedly coming out before. The open world racer is allegedly coming later this year, with an announcement likely coming at E3- but Turn 10 Studios are making big leaps forward where the series’ racing simulation wing is concerned.

In the latest Forza Monthly stream, Chris Esaki, creative director of the upcoming Forza Motorsport, spoke about the racer and its development. In particular, Esaki highlighted the changes that are being implemented with the physics, with the next game apparently having more changes in physics from the previous games than there were changes between Forza Motorsport 4 and in total. Esaki says it’s going to be “a huge generational leap.”

“To put the physics work into perspective for everyone here, the changes we made from Forza Motorsport 7 until now, is more than the changes that we made from Forza Motorsport 4 through 7,” said Esaki (via Pure Xbox). “So it’s basically a huge generational leap coming to the game.”

Meanwhile, Esaki also confirmed that the next game is simply going to be called Forza Motorsport– there’s no sequential numbering in there. Once again, that suggests that the game is looking to reinvent the franchise, which, of course, the developer has hinted at before.

“The name of the game is Forza Motorsport,” Esaki said. “There’s no sequential 8 after the title. It really is an all-new Forza Motorsport experience.”

As for the next Forza Horizon, the game is allegedly set in Mexico. Read more on that through here.
