While miHoYo readies to deploy Genshin Impact’s next update, Version 2.8 “Summer Fantasia”, it’s also begun teasing what’s next for the story. Players will be venturing to Sumeru, a country located east of Liyue and home to the Dendro Archon. In a series of new tweets, the developer has revealed that looks for some new characters.
The first is Tighnari, an Avidya Forest Watcher who utilizes the Dendro element. The second is Collei, who appeared in the recent Interlude trailer. She also utilizes Dendro and is an Avidya Forest Ranger Trainee that fights with a bow. Judging by the quote provided, she has some history with Amber though it’s been a while since they last met.
Finally, there’s Dori, a Sumeru Merchant who utilizes the Elector element. She’s an expert at procuring rare “experimental materials” as per Tighnari, though how she obtains them is unknown. All three characters should arrive alongside Sumeru, though miHoYo hasn’t provided a release window for the same. Stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks.
As for Version 2.8, it’s out tomorrow and adds new quests, activities, events, and 4-star character Shikanoin Heizou. Head here for more details.
