Godfall – New Info Coming “Really, Really Soon”

Since it was announced at The Game Awards last year as the first PS5 launch title to be officially unveiled (though it will also be releasing on PC), we haven’t really heard much about Counterplay Games and Gearbox’s self-dubbed “looter-slasher” Godfall. There have been a few meagre gameplay clips here and there, and one larger gameplay video from what was an older build of the game, but as far as concrete information is concerned, there hasn’t been much to go on.

That might be getting remedied soon. At Gearbox’s recent PAX East panel (where they also unveiled Borderlands 3’s story DLC), Godfall also had a bit of a presence. Though the majority of it entailed the same trailer that the game was unveiled with in December, that was followed by Gearbox Publishing president Steve Gibson taking the stage.

While much of what Gibson said was essentially a summarization of things that have already been revealed about the game (such as its co-op-centric nature), one thing he said in particularly stood out. “We’ll have more to tell you about Godfall really, really soon.”

It’s a single sentence that was said in passing, but it makes sense, given that the game is now too far away from launch now, that more info on it isn’t too far away. A PlayStation 5 reveal event has long been rumoured, and though one hasn’t taken place till now, if it were to happen in the near future (and logic dictates that it should), then Godfall being there is pretty much guaranteed.

Godfall is out this Holiday for PS5 and PC (via the Epic Games Store)
