Despite being based on a mobile RPG, Cygames’ Granblue Fantasy: Versus is a fighting game first and foremost. However, along with the standard fighting modes, this Arc System Works-developed title also sports RPG Mode. It essentially offers a side-scrolling beat ’em up experience with bosses and items.

How do you go about obtaining items like weapons and the like? By visiting Sierokarte’s Knickknack Shack. The official Granblue Fantasy: Versus Twitter offered a short gameplay clip on how this looks. Completing different quests will also reward weapons and items so there are multiple avenues for progression.

Granblue Fantasy: Versus is out on February 6th for PS4 in Japan. Western audiences can expect to pick it up in the first quarter of this year though a definite release date hasn’t been confirmed. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months. In the meantime, check out some footage of the different fighters like the hard-hitting Vaseraga, or quick and agile Ferry and Lancelot.
