Despite being relatively untested on consoles, Cygames’ Granblue Fantasy: Versus is off to a great start in Japan and Asia. Shipments and digital sales for the PS4 title, which launched yesterday for both regions, crossed 150,000 units. The developer revealed on Twitter that it’s planning “various updates” for the future.

Granblue Fantasy: Versus is a fighting game and developed by Arc System Works of Guilty Gear and Dragon Ball FighterZ fame. It sees famous characters from the mobile RPG like Gran, Katalina, Ferry, Lancelot and many more duking it out. There’s also an RPG Mode which acts as a side-scrolling action RPG brawler with story elements.

We’re most interested to see how it performs in the West especially since Granblue Fantasy is relatively unknown in these regions. It releases on March 3rd in North America and Q1 2020 for Europe. Granblue Fantasy: Relink, an action RPG featuring the series’ characters but in a new setting, is also in the works for PS4.
