Take-Two Interactive and Rockstar Games have released a new trailer for the hotly-anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6. It offers a better look at the game’s primary setting, Vice City, while also introducing its two protagonists. Check it out below.

The trailer introduces us to Jason, who, after a conversation with a man named Brian, picks up his partner, Lucia, from prison. What follows is a montage of all kinds of things the duo get up to, including some criminal activities, as they begin their slow takeover of Vice City.

While no gameplay is shown throughout the trailer, the visuals indicate that all these are in-engine cutscenes. The fidelity is impressive, with quite a bit of detail visible in various things like characters’ skins and even the wrinkles in their clothing.

Other scenes also give us a loose idea of what kinds of themes and story beats we can expect from Grand Theft Auto 6. Along with the general vibe of partying, the trailer shows illicit activity and the Vice City Police Department potentially involved in shady business.

We also get a glimpse at some of the major set pieces that we might get to see when the game comes out, including what appears to be a fight during an aerial heist and even a truck pulling a giant container behind it in a scene reminiscent of the climactic set piece of 2011 movie Fast Five.

Going by the trailer, we can also assume quite a bit of variety in the number of vehicles. Alongside more mundane vehicles like cars and trucks, it also showcases seaplanes and speed boats that are involved in high-speed chase sequences.

The trailer ends by reiterating the May 26, 2026 release date announced last week. The release date, a notable delay from the originally-planned launch window of Fall 2025, was announced alongside an apology by the studio.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is under development for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, with the trailer purported to be from the PS5 version. While a PC release is expected, Rockstar and Take-Two have been relatively quiet about its existence. Going by history, however, we will likely see a PC release between six months and a year after the initial console launch.

Rockstar and Take-Two have also yet to reveal any solid details about the online component of Grand Theft Auto 6. Rumours from last month have indicated that we might start seeing details about the online mode in the coming weeks. In the meantime, you can check out the first trailer, which was released back in December 2023.
