The online component for Grand Theft Auto 5, namely Grand Theft Auto Online, is now live and the introductory for the mode has been revealed. Check it out above.

Grand Theft Auto Online is very similar to the single-player campaign, except you’ll be able play online with friends, completing jobs, missions and heists with their assistance. You can also purchase properties or just pick up a gun and rob a liquor store. It’s completely up to you, and you can just as easily choose to hang out with friends as shoot up Los Santos.

GTA Online will include many other features such as a Reputation system and Passive Mode, not to mention more information on the micro-transactions driving the online world. You can read more about them here. Grand Theft Auto Online is currently available for Xbox 360 and PS3.

Have you gotten online yet? If so, how has the experience been thus far? Let us know in the comments.
