343 Industries has provided a lot of information over the past few weeks regarding Halo Infinite’s multiplayer but also promised that fans could try it for themselves in an upcoming technical preview. Though registrations went live after its initial reveal, there’s no date aside from “Summer.” Community manager John Junyszek provided an update on Twitter though and reassured fans that it wouldn’t drop out of nowhere.
“PSA: Halo Infinite multiplayer technical preview details will be made known ahead of time. It will not be a surprise.” Junyszek did note that you have to be a Halo Insider to participate so sign up for that here. As for the current status of the preview, Junyszek said, “We’re constantly evaluating the flighting build, just like we do with MCC flights, and the exact timing is dictated by development realities. That said, once we have a firm date locked in, we’ll let you know.”
343 Industries hasn’t noted the exact content that will be available in the preview. However, considering everything shown till now, it’s safe to say that Spartan customization, progression, modes like Capture the Flag and Arena, and different maps will be featured. Testing on network infrastructure, matchmaking, sandbox balance and anti-cheat will also be done, which is a lot to prepare in the coming weeks. As always though, stay tuned for more details on the same.
Halo Infinite is slated to release in Holiday 2021 for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC. It’s rumored to be releasing in mid-November.
