Halo Infinite

The coming weeks are going to be busy for Halo Infinite and its players, with Season 2: Lone Wolves arriving soon, and bringing with it new modes, new maps, various improvements, and much more. Meanwhile, campaign co-op and Forge mode are also expected to arrive in the coming months- but it seems there are other major things waiting in the wings as well.

It’s been reported for a while that support studio Certain Affinity is working on a new multiplayer mode for Halo Infinite, and the developer itself recently said that it was working on expanding the game in “new and exciting ways”. Recent reports have claimed that the mode, codenamed “Tatanka”, is going to be a massive battle royale experience, and now, further details on it seem to have come to light thanks to dataminers.

As reported by @leaks_infinite on Twitter, datamining seems to have uncovered various details on Tatanka. The battle royale experience will apparently offer the option for solo free for all matches, or playing in teams of either two or for players. Bots will also be featured, it seems, similar to the base multiplayer experience.

Several game mode settings for Tatanka have also emerged, hinting at various mechanics like limited respawns, revives, executions, and more. Finally, it also seems like the game mode is currently being tested, and while that doesn’t necessarily say anything concrete about how far along it might be in its development process, it does seem like things are ramping up behind the scenes.

Of course, nothing has been officially announced just yet, so keep that in mind for now. We’ll keep an eye out for more details, so stay tuned.

Halo Infinite is available on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC.
