In the lead-up to Halo Infinite’s launch, Microsoft and 343 Industries have regularly been releasing short films in a series called UNSC Archives that dive into the series’ lore. Having covered the origins of the Spartan armour’s energy shield and the new grappleshot, the newest UNSC Archives video, called “Lightbringers”, focuses on the Master Chief’s iconic Mjolnir armour.

More specifically, the trailer is about an ore found in the armour’s exoskeleton, and how colonial miners bravely decided to extract the critical material from a UNSC mining site, even while an attack from the Covenant threatened to make the entire caves system collapse. Check out the full video below.

Plenty of details on Halo Infinite’s single player campaign and multiplayer component have emerged in recent days and weeks, from full details on the battle pass of its first season to a key antagonist in the game, and much more. Rumours have indicated that the free-to-play multiplayer component might even be in line for an imminent surprise launch.

Halo Infinite’s official release date is set for December 8, for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC.
