The latest major update for Arrowhead Game Studios’ Helldivers 2 is now available and takes the totally-justified fight to the Terminid Hive Worlds. Check out the launch trailer for Into the Unjust below.
In a significant change of pace, players will descend into randomly generated caves with destructible terrain and dark corners, necessitating flashlights. Stratagem use is also restricted, unless you can find a roof to call down support. Two mission types have been introduced, as teams must descend into the Spore Lung and destroy it or drive a GATER vehicle to extract oil while defending it from the bugs.
Of course, the Terminids aren’t the same surface-dwellers that you’ve dealt with till now. Rupture Spewers and Warriors will burrow underground to retreat or attack, while the Dragonroach roams the skies, raining down acid.
While not available currently, players will have access to new weapons and armor for fighting the fiends on September 4th with the Dust Devils Premium Warbond. Stay tuned for more updates in the meantime.
