Helldivers 2 has maintained impressive momentum where its sales and player numbers are concerned since its release two months ago, to the extent that it was the UK’s best-selling game for the month of March, making it the region’s best-seller for the second consecutive month (via GamesIndustry).

As per data released by the GSD, in fact, based on its first eight weeks, Helldivers 2’s sales are now actually outpacing those of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s first eight weeks. Arrowhead’s shooter is, of course, a cheaper title, while also being available on PC, as opposed to the £70 PS5-exclusive Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

In third place, meanwhile, is Dragon’s Dogma 2with Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth coming in at No. 5. The latter technically launched on the final day of February, but that is included in the tracking period for March, so all of its sales are accounted for in these charts. In fourth place is another new release in the form of WWE 2K24, which has enjoyed 8 percent higher sales than last year’s game in its first four weeks.

March also saw the launch of other notable new titles like Rise of the Ronin and Princess Peach: Showtime!, but both have failed to break into the top 10, with the former coming in at No. 21 and the latter at No. 30. You can check out the full top 10 below.

On the hardware front, over 117,000 consoles were sold in the UK in March, which is 22 percent higher than the previous month, but 15 percent down from March of last year. In first place was PS5, with sales up 25 percent over February, but down 9 percent from March 2023. The Switch follows behind in second place, with sales increasing 20 percent from February, and decreasing the same amount from March 2023. Bringing up the rear is Xbox Series X/S, which saw a 19 percent month-over-month increase, but an 18 percent year-over-year drop.
