DON’T WANT: EXCESSIVE USAGE OF FOCUS
Detective Vision or Witcher Sense or whatever you want to call it has taken over game design over the last decade or so, and we’ve now gotten to a point where developers constantly keep making use of that mechanic excessively, to the extent that it’s almost become a crutch for many games. Zero Dawn called it the Focus, and while the game’s story did provide enough contextualization for it, there’s little doubt that it relied on using the Focus maybe a bit too much. Hopefully, Forbidden West will dial that back a little bit, because constantly having to use it definitely takes you out of the experience a little bit and tends to make things a bit too monotonous.
