Update: Replying in a ResetEra thread, Schreier asked, “Is this really worth a thread? If I have news to report it’ll be on Kotaku!” Once again, take this all with a grain of salt since rumors could just be rumors at the end of the day.
Original Story:
Guerrilla Games may be taking the first steps towards a sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn, which is more than likely exclusive to the PS5. However, it seems there may be plans to port the first game over to PC. Kotaku’s Jason Schreier was recently asked about whether he could put to bed rumors about the same.
Schreier’s response was that, “I cannot put that rumor to bed.” When asked if it was a possibility, he responded positively. This isn’t confirmation that a PC version is in the works but it’s possible that plans are being made (and Schreier possibly heard whispers of the same). It wouldn’t be the first PS4 console exclusive that received a PC port (see Detroit: Become Human, Death Stranding, etc).
Though the argument could be made that those are courtesy of the developers or third party publishers, Sony is also involved with publishing on PC. Predator: Hunting Grounds, an asymmetrical multiplayer title, is coming to the Epic Games Store on PC with Sony as its publisher. Sony bringing Horizon Zero Dawn to PC isn’t be too big of a stretch then.
Regardless, we’ll have to wait for some kind of official confirmation, if not more insider reports so stay tuned. In the meantime, check out our review of the PS4 version here.
