Square Enix’s first major release for 2019 is arguably even more hyped than 2016’s Final Fantasy 15. Kingdom Hearts 3 will be out in January 2019, and will bring an end to the war between Light and Darkness. Sora, Mickey, and Donald will be gathering the seven Guardians of Light to face Organization XIII. However, the game’s focus on Disney crossovers is still very much intact.
Along with Frozen, Big Hero 6, Tangled, Toy Story, and Monsters, Inc., Disney’s Hercules will also be featured. This time around, Sora and friends head to Olympus, home of the Greek Pantheon. As the newest screenshots showcase, they’ll come up against Hades and the Titans. Thankfully, Zeus appears to be on their side, and main man Hercules returns to the fold.
Also, according to the Kingdom Hearts Twitter, the trio will also head to Twilight Town, meeting Pence, Olette and Hayner. “But will they be able to help Roxas?” is a tease if we’ve ever heard one.
Kingdom Hearts 3 releases on January 25th 2019 for Japan and January 29th 2019 worldwide for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. According to Square Enix, the action RPG will offer 40-50 hours of story content. With mini-games and other additional content, fans will be looking at over 80 hours of playtime overall- though that number hasn’t been nailed down yet.
