Mario Golf: Super Rush Claims Top Spot in Weekly UK Retail Charts

Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is pushed down to third place, while Bandai Namco's Scarlet Nexus debuts in eighth position.

The latest weekly charts for physical sales in the UK are in (via GamesIndustry), and after two weeks on top of the charts following its launch, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart has dropped down to third place. Taking the top spot is the newly released Mario Golf: Super Rush, which has sold 17.5% more than Mario Tennis Aces – which was also developed by Camelot – did at launch in 2018. FIFA 21 is in third place.

Mario Golf isn’t the only new release in the top 10 this week. Also in the top 10 is Bandai Namco’s new action RPG Scarlet Nexuswhich comes in at No. 8. 58% of Scarlet Nexus’ sales were on the PS5, 21% on the PS4, and 20% on Xbox. Meanwhile, Olympic Games Tokyo 2020: The Official Video Game debuts at No. 11, with 51% sales on PS4, 29% on Xbox One, and 21% on the Nintendo Switch.

The rest of the top 10 is dominated by familiar names, with the likes of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, the Nintendo Switch version of Minecraft, Ring Fit Adventure, and Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury all figuring in the charts.
