Of the many game announcements this Summer, Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls remains the most exciting. Developed by Arc System Works alongside PlayStation Studios and Marvel Games, the 4v4 tag fighter was playable at EVO 2025. While it launches next year for PS5 and PC, it could have a very long tail of support.

Captured by ShinKensou on YouTube, Arc System Works producer Takeshi Yamanaka said at the game’s EVO panel (translation by PlayStation Studios senior producer Reed Baird), “For the next 10 years, we plan to keep making this game the best experience ever.”

A ten-year plan isn’t exactly unheard of in gaming (and sees its fair share of jeering), but Arc System Works is no stranger to long-term support for its titles. Guilty Gear Strive, which launched in 2021, will receive its next DLC fighter, Lucy from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, later this month. It’s also planning a massive 2.0 update for launch next year alongside two new characters, rumored to be Robo-Ky and Jam.

In the short term, Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls will host a closed beta from September 5th to 7th. You can learn more here and check out the beginner’s guide video here.
