You Aren’t Actually Big Boss
This one could either be incredibly shocking, incredibly stupid or both, depending on how invested you were in Metal Gear Solid 5’s story since the release of Ground Zeroes.
As it turns out, the player isn’t controlling Big Boss throughout the game. Instead, he’s the medic who saved Big Boss when MSF was destroyed and hence referred to as Venom Snake throughout the game. Venom Snake lost one of his arms and was given plastic surgery and hypnotherapy in order to act as a body double for Big Boss. It was also in fact Venom Snake who would command Outer Heaven in the first Metal Gear game before being killed by Solid Snake while Big Boss himself would function at FOXHOUND and sanction the operation.
But where was the real Big Boss during all of this?
