Microsoft Flight Simulator is already confirmed to receive an update for January 2021 that adds a more accurate representation of the United Kingdom. Before that, however, VR support will finally be coming to the title this month. It goes live on December 23rd.

Revealed in a recent developer Q&A on Twitch, Microsoft and Asobo noted that the update would be free and encompass all VR headsets. Executive producer Martial Bossard said that, “It will be open to all devices. Oculus family, Valve family – every family of headset is going to be supported.” The regular gameplay as well as the menus can be experienced in VR so you can expect a seamless experience.

Microsoft Flight Simulator is currently available for PC – you can check out our review here. It’s currently slated to arrive on Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S in 2021. The next big update, focusing on the UK, will utilize data and aerial images for locations like England, Wales and Scotland. More than 50 new landmarks, new procedural buildings and improvements to some of the current airports can be expected so stay tuned.
