Microsoft: PS3 “Isn’t As Good of an Entertainment Console”

Shots fired! Shots fired!

The console wars are a beautiful thing full of grace, poignant moments and elegant, respectable combat. Or at least they would be, but it’s Sony and Microsoft. Who needs all that when you can trash talk?

Such was the case with senior vice president of Microsoft’s Interactive Entertainment Business Yusuf Mehdi, who stated at a presentation during the D:Dive Into Media conference that the PS3 “isn’t as good of an entertainment console” compared to the Xbox 360.

The clincher? He added that this is something pretty much “everybody knows.”

Leave aside the obvious question as to who “everybody” is. We don’t think this is the case of Microsoft firing back at Sony for their comment about how “Yoga isn’t gaming”. More than anything, it shows that both companies are in it to win it – again – and they’re not going down without a fight.

Wait, does everybody include the fans who’ve made the Xbox 360 the number 1 console in the US for the 25th week in a row? Zing!
