The Last of Us Part 1 launched last year for PS5 and is out on March 3rd for PC. However, Naughty Dog has even more in store, according to co-president Neil Druckmann on Twitter. After wishing a happy New Year and thanking fans for their support, he teased “lots of cool stuff coming next year that we can’t wait to share with y’all!”
Druckmann already announced that The Last of Us would receive a standalone multiplayer title, so we may learn more later this year. The Game Awards creator Geoff Keighley responded to the tweet with a side-eye emoji. It could receive a reveal at Summer Game Fest on June 8th, one year after the project’s official announcement.
New Uncharted titles are also seemingly on the way, with Christina-Marie Drake McBrearty hired as a recruiter last year to build future teams “for not only new titles but for the legacy of Uncharted.” Naughty Dog is also working with Sony’s new triple-A studio in San Diego to develop “an exciting new project” in a “beloved franchise” (which could be a reboot of Uncharted, as per rumors).
However, Druckmann also told fans to “be wary of ‘insider’ info” and that “much of it is false.” He may be referencing the rumor by leaker ViewerAnon, who reported that Druckmann’s next game is The Last of Us Part 3. Stay tuned for more updates in the meantime.
