With Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection late last year and The Last of Us Part 1 just yesterday, Naughty Dog has now firmly established a foothold in the PC gaming space, and though these may have once been uncharted waters for the premium first party PlayStation studio, it seems like it has no plans of stepping away anytime soon.

In a blog post that was recently published to celebrate The Last of Us Part 1’s PC launch (though the game’s rough technical state may have put a bit of a dampener on those expectations), the studio confirmed that going forward, it plans to keep developing games for both PC and PlayStation consoles.

“Rest assured, PlayStation and PC players, we’re already looking forward to sharing more, whether you prefer a DualSense controller or a keyboard and mouse,” the developer wrote. “Developing for both platforms empowers us to incorporate lessons learned from either into the overall design of our games. Sharing our stories and experiences on PS5 as well as PC is something that Naughty Dog has embraced and will continue to support moving forward.”

What exactly Naughty Dog’s support for both platforms will entail remains to be seen, but one would assume that the studio’s standalone multiplayer The Last of Us title, which is supposedly Naughty Dog’s most ambitious project to date, will hit both platforms. Last year, PlayStation Studios boss Hermen Hulst said that future live service releases by Sony would launch simultaneously for PS5 and PC, and one would assume Naughty Dog’s multiplayer game will fall in that category.

Meanwhile, where The Last of Us Part 1 is concerned, it has enjoyed Sony’s fourth biggest Steam launch to date, with a peak concurrent users count of over 36,000 players on Steam at launch.
