After launching for PS4, PS5, PC and Nintendo Switch, Square Enix’s Octopath Traveler 2 is coming to Xbox. It will be available in early 2024 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC via the Microsoft Store while also launching on Game Pass. Check out the announcement trailer below.

As a follow-up to the first game, which introduced the HD-2D visual style that mixes 3D environments with retro sprites, Octopath Traveler 2 offers eight new characters. Each has a unique story and Path Actions for different playstyles and will often intersect during their travels. Depending on your actions, it’s possible to influence NPCs, steal items, beat up bystanders or engage in trade.

The combat system features the Break and Boost mechanics of the original, with players exploiting enemy weaknesses and strengthening their attacks. Octopath Traveler 2 has crossed one million in worldwide shipments and digital downloads as of June 2023. Head here for details on its critical reception.
