Square Enix’s Octopath Traveler has been very well received for the Nintendo Switch since launching on July 13th. It topped Media Create charts in Japan in its first week. In the UK, it nearly had double the sales of Bravely Default and earned the most revenue of any single-platform title for that week. Many critics have also praised the game, thus leading to an accolades trailer released for it. Check it out below.
Octopath Traveler has been on many RPG fans’ radars since its announcement in January 2017. Players will have eight different characters to choose from, each with their own unique abilities and adventures. It’s possible to play with just one character, or join up with the other characters for a full party. Praise for Octopath Traveler highlights the “2D-sprites-meets-3D-environments” aesthetic and the combat, as well as the overall world-building.
You can read GamingBolt’s own review for Octopath Traveler and see if it’s worth picking up. This won’t be the last Switch game from Square Enix Business Division 11, but they have also clarified that they’re working on non-Switch titles as well.
