Overwatch Echo

Blizzard Entertainment’s Overwatch has a new hero on the horizon – damage dealer Echo, an intelligent Omnic AI. Currently available on the Public Test Realm for PC, Echo is the first hero to be added since Sigma back in August. However, it seems that she’s also going to be the last for the current game.

Director Jeff Kaplan revealed to IGN Nordic that Echo is currently “the last hero coming to standard Overwatch.” Any new heroes will launch with Overwatch 2. Though owners of the first game will have free access to the same, it’s still a long wait especially since the sequel doesn’t have a release date.

We do know that Sojourn is another new hero and with this announcement, she’s pretty much locked in for the release of Overwatch 2. The sequel is currently in development for Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC. Along with new heroes, legacy owners will also have access to the new maps and modes for no extra cost. Stay tuned for more details on Echo’s release in the coming weeks.
