Sony has confirmed that PlayStation VR2 is set to launch in early 2023 (with rumours pegging it for a launch in February or March), and the rollout of new details on the new virtual reality headset is continuing to gather momentum as we head to its release. To that end, Sony has now released a new ad to show off some of the features that the new hardware will boast.
Along with showing brief clips of gameplay footage from titles like Horizon Call of the Mountain, Firewall Ultra, No Man’s Sky, and Resident Evil Village, the ad touts several of PSVR2’s headlining features, including its new controllers and the way they will change the way you play your games (thanks in part to their haptic feedback and adaptive triggers), 4K resolution support, foveated rendering, eye-tracking, and more. Check it out below.
Recently, Sony confirmed that the PSVR2 will not be backward compatible with the original PSVR, citing the vast differences between the hardware of the two headsets. That said, subsequent reports have claimed that several developers are working on PSVR2 ports of their PSVR titles.
