It’ll soon be a full year since the long-awaited launch of the incredible Psychonauts 2, but if you’ve been holding out on diving into its trippy offerings until now in the hope that the game will eventually get a physical launch- well, there’s good news. You won’t have to wait much longer.
Psychonauts 2 is finally getting a physical launch, courtesy of Skybound Games, who recently announced Psychonauts 2: The Motherlobe Edition. On top of the game itself, it will include a lenticular outer sleeve, a reversible box art, a digital code for as yet unreleased behind-the-scenes materials, a collection of six die-cut stickers, and a set of six two-sided cards with concept art and final art. It will launch for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PS4 on September 27. Check out the trailer below.
Psychonauts 2 has received widespread acclaim since its launch in August last year, including from ourselves. In our review, we awarded it a score of 9/10, saying, “Psychonauts 2 is bigger, better, and more ambitious than its predecessor in every way imaginable.” Read the full review through here.
As per former Double Fine Productions dev Lisette Titre-Montgomery, who was art director on Psychonauts 2, the highly-acclaimed platformer is the best-selling game from the studio to date.
