RAGE 2

Along with taking shots at Ubisoft’s Far Cry New Dawn for the familiar colour scheme, Bethesda/id Software promised some new gameplay footage for RAGE 2 not too long ago. We’ve finally got it, with several publications getting their hands on a pre-beta version of the game and providing previews. Famitsu’s videos are worth watching if you just want the gameplay, but be warned of spoilers.

One gameplay video takes us to Wellspring, a town with a very Borderlands-esque vibe to it. Though some of the lip-syncing seems rough, the overall atmosphere and aesthetic is pretty solid. Other gameplay videos include the various abilities that players can wield, including Vortex for gathering enemies up, and Barrier for blocking incoming fire.

RAGE 2 will be releasing on May 14th for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. id Software is developing the title with the help of Avalanche Studios of Just Cause fame. The game uses the latter’s Apex Engine instead of id Tech to help create detailed environments and avoiding loading screens.
