The Game Awards 2018 will be taking place next month, providing a number of high-profile reveals, along with recognizing the best games released this year. We do know that there’s a lot of big stuff planned by way of announcements, but while we don’t know what exactly that will be yet, the nominees for each category of the awards themselves have been fully revealed. Surprising no one is the fact that both Red Dead Redemption 2 and God of War have the maximum number of nominations each. That includes Game of the Year, Best Game Direction, Best Narrative, Best Art Direction, and more. What is pleasantly surprising is that 2D platformer Celeste has also earned four nominations, including for Game of the Year. Other games nominated for awards this year include Fortnite, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Monster Hunter World, and so on.
The Game Awards 2018 will take place on December 6th at 5:30 PM PT. As always, it will be hosted by Geoff Keighley and can be viewed on various platforms, like YouTube, Facebook, and so on. The real question is: Will Bayonetta 3 make another appearance, especially since its only teaser was revealed at last year’s The Game Awards? Time will tell.
