Resident Evil Requiem DLC Will Focus on Leon, Not Alyssa Ashcroft – Rumor

The DLC, which is allegedly "late in development," could also launch closer to the base game than expected, per insider Dusk Golem.

Resident Evil Requiem - Leon

Resident Evil Requiem is a massive success for Capcom, with over five million sales in less than a week, and while it hasn’t been confirmed, some paid DLC seems likely. However, while insider/leaker AestheticGamer, aka Dusk Golem, previously reported on how it could star Alyssa Ashcroft, Grace’s mother, it seems that Leon S. Kennedy could take the spotlight.

“Previously, I mentioned Alyssa,” says Dusk Golem. “The reason for that is I’ve heard they have a fully playable version of her rigged up that I heard was likely not playable in the main game, but being made for some DLC thing, no further context than that.” However, mentions of a Leon-focused DLC began to emerge more recently, although they don’t have any information on the scope or plot.

They do theorize that it may explain the reports about Alyssa. Perhaps she could appear in a non-playable role, set sometime before the events of Requiem? As such, some Leon-related content was apparently cut from the base game “really late in development,” so they suspect that it may be “repurposed.”

Interestingly, the alleged DLC was meant to “space out the release between Resident Evil Requiem and the upcoming Code: Veronica and Zero Remakes.” This was when the former was apparently still slated for 2025, and as a result, we could see it launching closer than, say, Shadows of Rose for Resident Evil Village.

The question now is whether it will arrive before the rumored Code: Veronica Remake is revealed or after. While Dusk Golem isn’t acutely aware of a release date, they found it “very suspicious” that the Switch 2 amiibos of Grace and Leon would arrive on July 30th, and how it could signal a more substantial marketing push for the DLC.

Either way, the Resident Evil machine can’t be stopped, especially after the leaker reported that Resident Evil 1 Remake is apparently in the works (but many years off, as of now). While Resident Evil Zero Remake could launch in 2028, Capcom is reportedly holding a meeting next year, which could determine where the series (and the inevitable Resident Evil 10) ventures next.
