Housemarque’s PS5 exclusive sci-fi rogue-lite Returnal has certainly made its mark on audiences, getting praise from all corners of the community for its brilliant gameplay loop, setting, and story. Unsurprisingly, the developers are not yet done with the game, as they announced last week that it will be receiving new content in the form of co-op support and the new Tower of Sisyphus through the upcoming Ascension update.

Today, Housemarque revealed more information regarding the new game mode, in the form of an 18-minute gameplay trailer. The Tower of Sisyphus is the new endless mode for the game, which, as per game director Harry Krueger, is intended to provide some new secrets, narrative content, and endless challenges for players to enjoy. The video showcases how the tower rapidly changes as players climb the monument, along with the tower atrium, which unlocks each cycle and delivers a story portion.

Apart from that, the combat is also showcased, as well as a new boss. The Tower of Sisyphus will also track your progress from room-to-room and phase-to-phase, along with a multiplier that is needed to be kept alive to get good scores. Check it all out in the video below.

Tower of Sisyphus will be added into the game when the Ascension update releases on March 22.
