Microsoft officially embarks on its handheld journey with the release of the ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X. Developed in association with Asus, the former retails for $599.99 while the latter costs $999.99. Check out the launch trailer below.

The ROG Xbox Ally features an AMD Ryzen Z2 A CPU, 16 GB RAM and 512 GB storage alongside a 60Wh battery. If the price didn’t give it away, the Ally X is significantly stronger, thanks to an AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme CPU, 24 GB RAM and 1 TB of storage space, with an 80Wh battery. It also includes haptic vibrations in its Impulse Triggers and upgradeable storage. Learn more about their specifications here.

Of course, the main appeal of these devices is accessing one’s PC library across multiple storefronts on the go. Alongside downloading games from Ubisoft Connect, the EA App, Epic Games Store and Steam, you can stream titles from Game Pass via the cloud. There’s also the Xbox Fullscreen Experience – head here for more details.
