To say that Samson: A Tyndalston Story had a messy launch on PC earlier this year would be an understatement. Nevertheless, Liquid Swords has worked hard to support it, and in a new trailer, CEO Christofer Sundberg confirmed a September 21st release on Xbox Series X/S and PS5.

He also touted the post-launch support, which included seven updates and two content drops. Besides addressing technical and performance issues, Samson’s combat has seen numerous improvements, including uninterruptible takedowns, a wider parry window, and yes, tutorials that actually teach the mechanics.

The developer has also added three difficulty options, more debt collectors, more jobs, and a new part of town, the Lone Line Circuit, for racing. Players can also take on gigs as a taxi driver and customize their vehicles. It’s an impressive range of changes over such a short window. You can learn more about our thoughts on the post-launch state here.

You can also check out our launch review, which praised several aspects of the game despite its overall rough shape. Liquid Swords hasn’t indicated what’s next for Samson after the console versions, or whether it will move on to a new project. For now, there’s the hope that it lands better after all these months for newcomers.
