Would it really be The Game Awards without some appearance from PlayStation? Probably not, and it’s bringing Housemarque’s Saros along for the ride. After the Standard and Deluxe Editions were rated in Taiwan, Sony confirmed a “new look” at the December 11th show.

So while pre-orders are expected to open around the same time, we’ll also see more of security expert Arjun Devraj and his struggles on Carcosa. Like Returnal, he’s trapped in a loop, where even death doesn’t offer any escape. That means exploring the planet, rescuing survivors, finding ways to escape and learning more about the mysterious eclipse.

Unlike Returnal, Saros features persistent progression. The evolving weapons return, but you can also permanently upgrade Arjun’s suit. He also has more tools, including a barrier that absorbs bullets.

Saros launches on March 20th, 2026, for PS5. Its appearance at The Game Awards joins the likes of Tomb Raider, Resident Evil Requiem (which recently saw Leon’s appearance leaked) and maybe even Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced.
