Rare’s Sea of Thieves has had quite a journey. Despite issues at launch (check out our review here for more details), it soldiered on and received more updates. It’s been 1000 days since the title first launched in March 2018 and to celebrate, the developer has released a new video going over each of the different milestones.

Initially available for Xbox One and Windows Store, Sea of Thieves eventually came to Steam where it had a strong reception. As of July 2020, it’s passed 15 million players and has also come to Xbox Series X/S with several enhancements.

Even with so many different updates, Sea of Thieves will perhaps see its biggest change yet with its move to a battle pass system called Plunder Pass. Along with 100 levels to unlock for different rewards, there will also be different trials for players to take up. A new Plunder Pass will be available every three months alongside monthly live events. More details can be found here.
