Correction: Firesprite is not owned by Sony. We have changed the title accordingly. Our apologies for the same.

Back in 2012 Sony shut down it’s Liverpool studio and later on formed Firesprite. The team was responsible for helping the Japan team in the development of PlayRoom, an app that shows off the PS4’s camera capabilities.
In an interview with Gamasutra, one of the founders of the studio Graeme Ankers was asked about what they are working on next. Obviously Ankers did not reveal what they are working on but assured that whatever it will be it will show how multifaceted their technology is.
“We definitely can’t talk about what we’re working on next. We’re always going to be looking for something that has that kind of innovation, with those production values, definitely. We’re not a huge team, compared to what we were, so we have to pick our battles and focus on the right areas. But we have some really great technology that we’re building, and I hope the next thing we do will show how versatile our tech is; I think the future is all about how we kind of have to flex our technical muscles and create some really strong experiences,” he said.
Back in January this year it was revealed that Liverpool studio was working on a PS2 exclusive. So they might be working on it again, perhaps as a PlayStation 4/PS Vita exclusive. Who knows.
Firesprite are currently working on their own engine tech. Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
