While Gfk’s best-selling games at UK retail have yet to be revealed for this week, Nintendo’s Splatoon 3 is reportedly still on top. GamesIndustry head Christopher Dring tweeted that the shooter scored its “third boxed retail no.1 in the UK.” While sales numbers weren’t “exactly Japan levels,” it was noted that “the audience is building.”
Of course, it may be dethroned from the top spot by FIFA 23, which launches next week and is EA’s last title in the series in partnership with FIFA. Ted Lasso was confirmed as a playable manager recently along with Coach Beard and AFC Raymond.
As for Splatoon 3, it’s done exceptionally well since its launch, selling over 3.45 million units in Japan within its first three days. It set a new record for highest domestic sales within the first three days of launch for a Nintendo Switch title, but that’s not all. In its second week, it sold over 506,000 units at retail, as per Famitsu’s charts.
