There are a number of Star Wars titles in the works, like Skydance New Media’s cinematic action-adventure and Quantic Dream’s Star Wars Eclipse. However, there’s yet to be an official announcement for the sequel to Respawn Entertainment’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (aside from Electronic Arts acknowledging it’s in development). That being said, it’s reportedly in development and has a somewhat different name from its predecessor.
This is according to VentureBeat’s Jeff Grubb on his Giant Bomb premium show Grubbsnax (transcription by VGC). After teasing the fact that he was aware of the new name, a member of the chat said “Survivor.” Grubb responded, “Star Wars Jedi: Survivor… you got it. You nailed it. Well done. That’s the name.”
Further details weren’t provided. However, Grubb has stated in the past that the game will launch in 2023 and won’t be available for PS4 and Xbox One. He’s also reported on a reveal during the Star Wars Celebration which runs from May 26th to 29th so we may see it in action sooner rather than later.
An appearance at the upcoming Summer Game Fest showcase on June 9th or at the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase on June 12th wouldn’t be too far-fetched either. Time will tell so stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
