Strider Trailer Offers a Listen to the New Soundtrack

How does the new Strider pay homage to the original games? Find out.

Though remakes of classic 2D side-scrollers tend to be rather hit-or-miss, Double Helix Games appears to be on the right track with their reboot of Strider. Capcom’s classic murdering shinobi is back in a cross-generational, downloadable title that will see him challenge authority and killer machines in order to save the world from oppression.

The developer has released a new trailer for the game, which offers a listen to the official score. It may be brand new but it features plenty of homages to classic tunes that fans will recognize. Give it a listen above.

Strider is currently slated to release in 2014 and will be available for Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. It will feature hack and slash gameplay along with platforming elements in a fully 3D environment. Did we mention hang-gliding returns? Because it does. Stay tuned for more updates on the game in the coming months.
